Developmental Assets by
The Search Institute
The Developmental Assets® Framework
Search Institute has identified 40 positive supports and strengths that young people need to succeed. Half of the assets focus on the relationships and opportunities they need in their families, schools, and communities (external assets). The remaining assets focus on the social-emotional strengths, values, and commitments that are nurtured within young people (internal assets).
Attitudes and Behaviors (A&B) Survey
The Attitudes and Behaviors (A&B) Survey gives a snapshot of the current experiences and perspectives of your adolescent youth in your school, program, or community. It emphasizes the strengths and supports they currently have and need, and how those positive indicators protect against youth risk behavior.
Data in the Northwest Corner
NCPN has worked in concert with HVRSD to implement biannual surveys in grades 8, 10, & 12 to gain understanding of the current needs of the students and community based on the 40 Developmental Assets and findings from the Attitudes & Behaviors (A&B) Survey. Data is utilized to inform prevention programming throughout the school district.
