Northwest Corner Prevention Network was established in 2010 with the purpose of helping youth and families in Northwest Connecticut to enhance their ability to make healthy, informed decisions about substance use and risky behaviors.
NCPN uses community-based strategies to empower youth and families, with the attitude of embracing the "nothing about us without us" mentality.
The membership of the Northwest Corner Prevention Network aims to make prevention a priority in the Region 1 School District community. The membership is made up of representatives from all community sectors, from parents, schools, and youth themselves to business owners, law enforcement and local government officials.
Through training, education, evidence-based environmental strategies, and policy change, the coalition strives to make the community a better, healthier place for youth and families to thrive.
